Who is your accountability partner?

Mom and I, in Panama — Mom is the BEST accountability partner!

Oh, I love technology. I love gadgets. I sit in front of my computer and work on things most of the day. I enjoy the creative aspects of making my computer, phone or new gadget do something. I create routines to use with my Alexa, I use IFTTT to send me a text message when the motion sensor next to my front door notices someone walk by, I have created apps for my phone, built websites and connected my phone to a mini projector so I can watch movies outside. But today, tech failed me. I was scheduled to do a live event on Facebook for a Women’s Entrepreneur group that I belong to, but my camera would not come on while using Chrome. I finally discovered that if I switched to Firefox, the camera magically worked. Just in time to start my event at 7:30 am. I got myself off on a roll chatting away, only to discover that my audio was not working! Agghhh!! I was so disappointed. The whole thing was a mess. Later after my second cup of coffee I was able to set up Zoom to stream video to Facebook Live – which works beautifully. But that didn’t change the fact that my morning event was completely ruined by the temperamental tech.

The topic of my event this morning was creating an accountability group or finding an accountability partner. I have a couple of friends and colleagues that I lean on as accountability partners. My business and career doesn’t just “just” happen, I have to work at it. I plan, I plot, and I strategize. Having a system of accountability helps me to stay on track and stay motivated. I know it works for me. When I was researching this topic yesterday, I learned that people are 65% more likely to reach their goals when they’ve shared them with someone else. And, people are 95% more likely to reach their goals when they share them with a group and meet regularly to review them. That right there should get you over the line.

As part of my continued efforts to connect, reach out and grow, I am hoping to start an accountability group. My hope is that the group have some additional benefits. A group can work even when one member is sick or needs a break, or if they don’t have experience in my specific career. The group can provide a broader range of support; I might get a a funny, supportive meme today and a gentle shove tomorrow. And a group means that brainstorming and idea generation will likely be more fruitful.

I am excited to get my accountability group off the ground, so if you are interested in joining me, use the link below to JOIN!. I have a simple application, which does 2 things; 1) Asks for your commitment to the group and 2) Confirms your schedule availability. Simple as that!
Let’s get moving – together!

Join the ACCOUNTABILITY GROUP!

p.s. If you want to connect – please schedule sometime, I would love to chat with you!
