My commitment to the daily little blurb here that I have been writing, is to do it daily. Sometimes it gets done first thing, sometimes it gets done just before the clock strikes midnight. My initial goal was to write for the first hour or so, at the start of my day, but I seem to get distracted by other things. I find myself wanting to pair my writing with a photo – so then I go down a rabbit hole of looking for the right photo, or trying to decide what photo to take or reviewing my list of thing to write about – and well, then writing doesn’t happen. Believe it or not, I think I am going to have to prep to ensure my hour of writing time in the morning can be dedicated to just that. Following up on my post from September 18th, I am going to continue using my “Shiny Objects List” to keep myself from being distracted while I write. I also see that I need to build a list of topics – as sometimes the daily post idea is planted in my head from the minute I wake up, but other times I have to search around for it for a bit and then I find that I am down another rabbit hole. Two new items on my “Shiny Objects List”
- Build a catalog of photos for daily writing
- Create a list of writing prompts for daily writing
Today I am writing about writing. Ha!
I love to write, and these little blurbs that I share with you are fairly easy to get together – but I also love to research and write about new topics and to share my owns stories. Recently I put together a 6-week workshop for sharing your stories. My goal here was to help others craft their stories in a way that would help their business or career. After reading a number of books on the concept of “STORY” I was sold on the power of stories. Stories connect us, they bring us together, they capture attention, they are memorable and make concepts and ideas real. I am starting a new workshop in 2021, called the ContentLAB, to help others craft stories that will enhance their business. We’ll talk about “how” to craft your stories, how to find the “right” story and then where and how to share these amazing stories you create. With the goal of having content to share that captures the attention of your audience and compels them into action. If you are interested in joining, you can register here.
And just for fun, here is one of my little stories – Conquering Fear in Costa Rica
